Understanding WASAPI audio capture

What WASAPI does in the SW Encoder audio pipeline.

WASAPI is the primary Windows audio capture path used to receive audio from the selected device before DSP and encoding.

Audio capture is separate from the streaming output connection. This separation is important when troubleshooting: a server connection problem does not automatically mean the audio device has failed, and an audio capture problem can exist while an output socket is still connected.

Use the audio meter and diagnostics to identify which part of the chain is affected.
