Analyzing an HLS stream

For HLS, provide the playlist URL rather than a web player page. SW Inspector identifies the HLS delivery path and analyzes information available from the playlist and media segments.

HLS uses segmented delivery, so its buffering and timing behaviour differs from a continuous ICY/Icecast stream.

Do not compare HLS player latency directly with an ICY connection metric without considering playlist duration and player buffering.
